A former secondary English/Language Arts teacher and Creative Writing teacher with Southern Methodist University’s CAPE program and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institution with North Carolina State University, she has applied her love of teaching to the creation of WriterSpark Academy, an online school for aspiring and new writers seeking to hone their craft. Melissa Bourbon is the national bestselling author of more than 30 mystery books, including the Pippin Lane Hawthorne (Book Magic) novels, the Lola Cruz PI series, the Harlow Cassidy (Magical Dressmaking) Mystery series, the Bread Shop Mysteries, written as Winnie Archer.
She is a former middle school English teacher who gave up the classroom in order to live in her imagination full time. Melissa, a California native who has lived in Texas and Colorado, now calls the southeast home.
A former secondary English/Language Arts teacher and Creative Writing teacher with Southern Methodist University’s CAPE program and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institution with North Carolina State University, she has applied her love of teaching to the creation of WriterSpark Academy, an online school for aspiring and new writers seeking to hone their craft.
When she is not writing or igniting her WriterSpark through teaching, she hikes, practices yoga, cooks, and cuddles with her precious rescue pups, Bean, the pug, Dobby, the chug, and Pippin, the pint-sized super mutt.
